EU AI Act
Neo, the assistant inside Neogenic, is designed to meet the EU Artificial Intelligence Act. It's transparent about being AI, limited to administrative work, and used with human oversight.
How Neo meets the EU AI Act
Transparent by default
Every Neo conversation shows that Neo is an AI assistant and can make mistakes. Staff always know when they're working with AI.
A clear, administrative purpose
Neo helps clinic teams with operational work: organising leads and appointments, drafting messages, keeping tasks and records up to date. It is not designed or permitted for diagnosis, treatment decisions, interpreting clinical results or triage, and our Terms prohibit those uses.
Not a high-risk AI system
Because of that purpose, Neo is not a high-risk AI system under the AI Act and not a medical device. We keep a written classification record and review it before any new capability that could change this.
Human oversight and permissions
Neo can only do what the signed-in staff member is allowed to do. For sensitive actions, such as cancelling an appointment, Neo shows an approval card and waits for the person's confirmation. Staff review Neo's drafts before relying on or sending them.
AI literacy
A practical guide to working with Neo is available to every clinic on request at privacy@neogenic.ai: what Neo can and can't do, how to check its work, and what not to share with it.
Your data and AI
Neo uses a leading AI model through providers that keep no copy of your data and do not train on it. See our subprocessor list.
Frequently asked questions
Is Neo a high-risk AI system?
No. Neo is an administrative assistant. It is not used for medical decisions, triage, employment decisions or any other high-risk purpose listed in the AI Act.
Is my clinic's data used to train AI?
No. Our AI providers are contractually barred from training on your data, and Neo's requests run with zero data retention.
Who is responsible for what?
Scality Ltd provides Neo. Your clinic uses it, and should make sure staff know Neo's limits and review Neo's work.
